The SIM priced Rs 499 is giving additional benefit of free local and STD calls to any number.While with Rs 293 SIM card, the offer will be for only Airtel to Airtel.Another important point worth noting here is that this plan from Airtel is only for new customers.
There isn't much clarity regarding the extension of these two plans as well and the retailers are also not very sure that company will continue the offer after period of 84 days or is it a one time offer only.

The 3 G Airtel service users can upgrade free of cost to 4 G services in easy steps through onlone or by visiting nearby Airtel Store. The new 4 G SIM will be delivered at user's doorstep. In online process, the delivery information needs to be filled online while at Airtel stores, the paperwork needs to be completed.
Hence, this free upgradation will lead to faster internet access by the customers.
Another good news if you are planning to purchases a 4 G handset.Although this offer was announced in January 2017, just to remind that Airtel is offering free data worth Rs 9000 for period of 12 months.This offer is valid for existing 3 G Airtel customers to want to upgrade to 4 G mobile handset and also for non Airtel customers who have purchased New 4 G handset.
