So guys, now after the honeymoon period of enjoying the free 4G internet experience in India, it’s time to shell out some money from our pockets. It might sound funny but like distributing candy’s free for children and then charging the price from them once they get addicted and know the way to your shop. The Reliance Jio has not been any less than a Superstar of the Indian Film Industry who is always surrounded by fans, controversies and a lot of media hype. In this article, we are discussing about the recent survey conducted by brokerage firm, Bernstein which found that Jio would be successful in retaining it’s customer’s even after making it’s services paid (after 31st March 2017).
As per current news and speculations, there is a confusion regarding Jio user’s as to whether they should go for the Jio Prime Membership scheme or not. For those who are not aware, if we subscribe for Reliance Jio Premium Membership, a payment of Rs 99 needs to be made at any of the Reliance Digital outlets in India and after that, there is a monthly plan of Rs 303 and other plans as well for eg. Rs 149 plan . But the key benefit here is that once you become prime member, you will be enrolled for a lifetime and the monthly recharge is not necessary for eg if you don’t require usage in a certain month, you can recharge the plan in the next month.
Another survey from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BoAML) reported that majority of Jio Users will enrol for Prime Membership and also report is also mentioning Jio as the quickest network than others. Talking about survey in detail, 1000 Jio users accross India were asked online about the subscribing for Jio Prime Membership and the response was 84% giving positive reply for taking up the membership. 70 percent of the people confirmed to choose the Rs. 303 monthly plan claiming while 12.7 percent people showed interest for the Rs.499 plan, whereas 8.5 percent voted for the Rs.149 plan.
Do People really want to pay for Jio and why ?
Sometimes some things become popular really fast and Reliance Jio is one of them.
From the above mentioned survey, 96 percent people are willing to pay for Jio, and if we go into details, 84 percent opted for Jio Prime plans and 12 percent want to go for via non-Prime plans. But at the end, customers are happy and want to use to use the Jio network. Another important fact is that 57 percent of users have rated Jio as the fastest data services provider in the country and this sure would make the close competitors worry in their board rooms.
The graphical representation of the report here suggests few call quality drawbacks with Jio. The point worth noting here would be the 35% where users accept the service to be faster but there is stability issue. Hence, as per my opinion, the Jio Management and Ownership should focus on this area as there is possibility of losing this customer base if the inconsistency in Call Quality continues. The good news is the second positive consecutive survey in favour of Jio and this is good sign for the company but competitors need to focus on their improvement areas as well.
Overall, Reliance Jio is a superhit among the Indian Masses and speaking personally me and my family are happy using and few call drops during the Reliance Jio unlimited Voice Calling are acceptable.
